About Lisa Swerling
Lisa’s Glass Cathedrals are a series of artbox sculptures containing brilliant tiny worlds, each making their own statement on our complicated lives. Many of the artworks can be uniquely customised, portraits of people and places capturing the amazing moments of life.
Born in Cape Town, South Africa, Lisa moved to the UK at 14, and went on to study Politics, Philosophy and Economics at Oxford University (1994). She took a detour to study art at St. Martin’s in London (1995) and then, with her husband Ralph Lazar, packed in their“proper” jobs to move to the Seychelles (1999) to set up Last Lemon, a graphic art licensing company. Back in London in 2006, they decided to have an art show and the Glass Cathedrals concept was born. In the years since, many hundreds of Glass Cathedrals have found their way into people’s homes.
